Shafina Ali

Bangladesh-born and UK based Shafina Ali is an incredibly talented, self-taught Islamic illumination and calligraphy artist. Inspired by nature and old traditional, Islamic artwork, she strives to convey her interpretation of Islamic art by using simple and elegant designs, in keeping with their traditional origins. She attended a short course in Islamic manuscript and illumination at The Prince's Foundation School of Traditional Arts in order to widen her knowledge of traditional methods, but she enjoys experimenting with different techniques,.

Over the last 10 years, Shafina has been pursuing and producing bespoke artwork and many of her works have been auctioned at Islamic events in different parts of the world. She is a great addition to this site.
