Calligraphist Sinan Doğan was born in Istanbul in 1973. He began his apprenticeship on the art of hüsn-ü hat (Calligraphy) under the authority of master Abdülhadi Erol Dönmez in 1998 and he obtained his ijazah (Certificate of Mastery) for thuluth in 2010.

Between 2010-2016, Sinan attended expert-level lessons given by Hüseyin Kutlu. During this time, under the leadership of Hüseyin Kutlu, he worked on restoration works of hüsn-ü hat decorations of Fatih Mihrimah Sultan Mosque in 2010 and Kılıç Ali Paşa Mosque in 2011.

Later on, he designed, created and carried out the hüsn-ü hat and decoration projects of Üsküdar Selami Ali Efendi Masjid in 2014, Belgradkapı Mosque in 2016, a tekke (lodge) of Cerrahi Order in Novi Pazar/Serbia in 2016 and another tekke of Cerrahi Order in Tetovo/North Macedonia in 2017.

Most recently Sinan participated in the Hilal-i Ahmer (Red Crescent) Collection project of Kızılay (Turkish Red Crescent) in 2019. Having a plethora of artworks in & around many places in Turkey and abroad, Sinan continues creating new works at his art studio in Fatih/Istanbul.
