Product Spotlight: Eternal Love by Nadia Djavanshir

One of the foundational principles of Islamic Art Prints  was to be a platform for up-and-coming artists. When we saw Nadia's work, we immediately spotted an innate talent. There was such sensitivity and such tranquillity in her work and there was no question we wanted her to be a part of our story. 

For this week's Product Spotlight, we decided that Nadia's piece Eternal Love, really deserved to be highlighted. Echoing the tone of our nation and a central theme that has emerged from the "Era of Coronavirus" is that of love; whether that be love for our families, friends, neighbours or even our health service and front-line workers who are risking their lives for us on a daily basis.

Love is the most positive emotion to have come out of this global emergency.

About this piece, Nadia says, "What I wanted to evoke with this painting was a feeling; a feeling of beauty and serenity. The Taj Mahal, which was my inspiration, is absolutely beautiful in it's own right. But when you get to know the story behind it, it becomes even more powerful and even more beautiful. It is beauty which has the immense power of being able to make you feel amazing.

The abstraction (or coloured clouds as some people call it) in my work, is meant to create an almost dreamlike quality of something that is driven by beauty. And that is the emotion that I want the viewers of this work to get lost in."
